The girl in the picture is  Katie Kirkpatrick,  she is  21 .  Next to her, her fianc้, Nick, 23.  
The picture was taken shortly before their wedding ceremony, held on January 11, 2005 in the US .
Katie has terminal cancer and spend hours a day receiving medication.
In the picture, Nick is waiting for her on one of the many sessions of chemo to end.

In spite of all the pain, organ failures, and morphine shots, Katie is going along with her wedding   and took care
of every detail. The dress had to be adjusted a few times due to her constant weight loss
ถึงแม้จะเจ็บปวด, อวัยวะภายในเริ่มล้มเหลว, และ มอร์ฟีนอีกหลายเข็ม, เคที่ ทนเพื่อที่จะเข้าพิธีแต่งงานของเธอ และดูแลจัดการ
ทุกๆรายละเอียด, ชุดแต่งงานของเธอ ต้องถูกปรับใหม่ทุกครั้ง ตามน้ำหนักของเธอที่ลดลงเรื่อยๆ..

An unusual accessory at the party was the oxygen tube that Katie used throughout the ceremony and reception as well.
The other couple in the picture are Nick's parents. Excited to see   their son marrying his high school sweetheart.
พิธีที่ดูจะแปลกซึ่งมีถังอ๊อกซิเจนที่ต้องใช้ ตลอดงาน, อีกคู่ข้างๆคือ พ่อแม่ของนิคที่ตื้นตัน ที่นิคกำลังจะเข้า

เคที่อยู่บนรถเข็นพร้อมกับถังอ๊อกซิเจน, นั่งฟังเพลงที่สามีเธอและเพื่อนๆร้องให้เธอ

At the reception, katie had to take a few rests.     The pain did not  allow her to stand for long periods
ที่ โต๊ะ, เคที่ต้องพักผ่อนบ้าง เพราะความเจ็บปวดทางร่างกายที่เธอมี ไม่สามารถทำให้เธอยืนนานๆได้... 



Katie died five days after her wedding day. Watching a woman so ill and weak getting married and with a smile on her face makes us think..... Happiness is reachable, no matter how long it lasts .  
เคที่เสียชีวิต 5 วันหลังจากวันแต่งงาน, การที่เราได้เห็นผู้หญิงที่ป่วยหนักใกล้จะตาย ได้กำลังจะแต่งงาน
พร้อมกับรอยยิ้มบนใบหน้าของเธอ..
ทำให้เราฉุกคิดว่า..
ไม่ว่ามันจะยาวนานเท่าไหร่...

หัวเราะให้มากที่สุด

และอย่าหยุดยิ้ม

no matter how strange life is
ไม่ว่าชีวิตจะดูแปลกเพียงใด

Life is not always the party we expected to be
ชีวิตอาจจะไม่ได้สนุกสนานอย่างที่เราคาดคิดไว้เสมอ
but as long as we are here, we should smile and be
grateful.
แต่ตราบที่เรายังมีลมหายใจ...
เราควรจะยิ้ม.. และขอบคุณสำหรับชีวิต ที่ยังมีอยู่..
